It keeps getting better

It's almost 11 pm and I'm all wired up from finishing a home project. I have issues...I admit it.
Today, my amazing friend Maria came to my house to sit in my new lawn :) and help me put grout in the porche (after 6 months of just tiles)...Sometimes you just need friends to push you a little to do the things you can do. I feel so accomplished and it's all that much special that we now can always look at it and know we did it together!!!
I forgot what a pain it is to clean up the tile after grouting, and even more with porous tile...But it's done and I'm super excited there's a room in the house that is finished (even if it's the porche).
After a week of projects it is extremely hard to catch up w the laundry...I try to keep up w it because I don't particularly enjoy when it piles up and I have to do it all together. However, between sod, cleaning for yard sales and grouting, my laundry has suffered. I've folded it all and tomorrow -between getting of work and getting ready for a BBQ/date- I'll have to put it away. Hopefully Mary Poppins will come and put it all away by magic.
Yes, I have a date tomorrow. Sort of. It's barbeque and there will be more people, which should make it easier. I still think getting set up is a good idea, except for the fact that the people setting me up seem to get a lot of expectations and anxiety which might not be good for their health. Meanwhile, I feel relaxed and unpressured because there will be other people and not just one to stare at :P. I'll keep you posted.
I have Pandora on. I love it. I have realized I am a much better person when I have music on. I'm a better mom too. It difuses my tension. Plus, I love to sing and dance (fast and slow) with myself, my cleaning utencils and my children.
I've been smiling a lot lately, I think I'm just happy. Period. It's a waste of time not to be...There's so many beautiful things in this world...Honest, that's what I feel.
OK, go be happy people, and smile, it takes 28 muscles as opposed to the 37 to frown...Now relax your faces and go face the world!!!

Causing world wars over water happen faster

I probably spent more water today, than I spend in a month...between 4 showers (three potty training accidents), one bath, the dishwasher, 3 loads of laundry...and (the bulk of it) finishing the patches on the grass and watering it tonight....I'm using up the water of the world... But it looks so wonderful I barely feel guilty about it...I will be laying down on that sucker all summer long...I love it!!!
Have you ever had perfect air dried hair??? When you are not going out, you are in your jammies and not in a hurry or nothing??? I had that today...It was probably because I had to use my daughter's 2 in one shampoo, because I forgot to bring a new conditioner from the other bathroom...I can't stop looking at myself (jk) but it makes me a little mad...Not that I worry too much about my hair (I probably do my hair once a week), but it's interesting that this always happens either when you are not going out of your house or when you are about to go to bed...
Olivia didn't get a nap, which meant she was exhausted and falling asleep as I got her jammies on...Her jammies must have caffeine in them because as soon as I finished getting them on she went from zombie to wide open owl eyes...and talking up a storm...What posessed my sweet little child who was so beautifully sleepy??? I finally took both of them to sleep and did the book-prayer-song-kisses routine, and Olivia only got out of bed 3 times (which is amazing)...and fell asleep right away....Maybe there will be a day when I don't have to close my doors and turn off he lights for half an hour every night so that my baby understands that Businesses are closed until tomorrow...
Ok, time to go to bed w perfect hair :P

Today, the grass is greener on my side

Today, I set my alarm clock at 7 for a busy day. I got up and started putting prices on stuff, got ready, got the kids ready and took my first load to my friend's house. I went to get Michael to get his butt out of bed, which turned out to be quite an ordeal, since he'd been out until sooooo late last night...Sometimes you just have to make things happen. We came and got some stuff from the garage, and headed over to Em's house again...Came back to get the last thing, which took forever. By the time I got back to the yard sale, I was full blown irritated... I only sold about 4 things and made $40, which is less than I expected but more than I would have probably gotten, because I'm usually just donating it all...Plus, I donated all my stuff to another yard sale, which is to benefit a family and that's trully amazing.
Michael took the girls and was going to find out how much grass would be...A few hours later he was still not back, which was a good sign.
I came home to more than half a yard full of grass!!!! I got right into helping...and most of the yard is done (just the patches in the sides are left)...It looks huge to me, just because a 4th of the yard wasn't usable at all before and now it is...
(Story) Long time ago, when I lived at my mother in law's house and when I moved to a house with a yard full of trash, I used to go to parks to take my shoes off and feel the grass...That's how much I love grass!!!! I'm so so so excited to have it all over the yard!!!
My daughters don't have to be saying "ouch, ouch" when they walk...We even played tag, and hide and seek and just run around...This is the American dream right here...
I can lay down and look at the stars at this woderful summer nights...I love it!!!
I'm debating whether to get the garage done, do the grass in the front yard or see if I can get my fence...I guess right now I'm leaning towards the fence...It would be huge to have that done...I guess I just need to get some pricing and design things...Very exciting!!! How come money doesn't multiply???
Bottom line is, whenever I stop to think about projects...I've done so many things with my very limited income...I'm so proud...Slowly but surely...things are getting done around here and not a month goes by that I don't improve something...It's so great!!!
Ok, I'll be sleeping inside, just because the grass is wet (oh yeah! I have to take care of my children too)

Yard Sale and Yard

I had dinner at Cathy's house (Michael's mom) and then head home...I started cleaning up the yard like a mad woman.
Tomorrow, Michael is supposed to lay the sod while I'm doing a yard sale. Since I won't be here to suppervise and to make things go faster and smoother, I cleaned the yard. This is a yard that got cleaned up from trash, 2 years ago when we bought the house...But the leaves and one corner that had woods and stuff hadn't been touched in who knows how long...Everything I couldn't throw away (because it didn't fit) got piled up to be throw away little by little in my 55 gallon weekly trash...That way, Michael doesn't go "around" things with the sod...
I love grass so much (and not the smoking kind) that I want it in every corner possible...so I cleaned it up to make it real simple...There were woods and pipes in the corners. Some had been there so long, part of them had desintegrated...there were a few tires, and bricks that got piled up...It's amazing how hard I can work when I have tons to do (aka yard sale tomorrow, garage to be cleaned, did I mention children?)...
I really hope Michael wakes up tomorrow. That's a tough one...he usually drinks hard on Fridays (and Saturdays thru Thursdays too)...I hope since the grass is already ordered he'll get up...Plus, he needs to help me load up some stuff in his truck for the yard sale.
I'm excited about tomorrow, it should be a productive day...I love those!!!
I hope you have a great productive weekend!!!

Love and other nonsenses

I just came from an awesome date w my friend Maria. I tried Cambodian food (not to be eaten in a date cause it'd be too embarrasing)...We talked about everything and nothing...wonderful..
I don't want to date and I'm terrified of falling in love..Love is not stupid, I'm the one who is stupid when in love...But I have some scientific back up...Drugs are terrible, right? There are images of the brain that show that the brain acts the same way in drugs and in love, same kind of brain activity...When in love, you rationalize all the red flags, you're superman and everything could work, everything can change, nothing is bad enough to make you stop and consider otherwise...That's my case against love...and I'm sticking to it...
I think that's why no one makes it to a second date with me...I find that practical mind set of "this is not going to work because..." and then no 2nd date...Would you let go, silly?? I can't...I would like some day to find someone to share my life and accomplishments, and worries with...and I guess I can't time it to fit my life plans (dang it)...
I just want to have deep conversations and mind blowing sex right now...That would work. I don't want to go through the selection process, it's exhausting and I'd rather be w my friends. Period.

OK! I just fell in love (or lust...what's the difference?) about 10 times (and that's because I'm picky). I watched the first episode of the Bachelorette...Can I be on that show??? I don't know why I watch it..I guess as a philosopher said once "Because [I] want to be in the presence of true love" (Owen Wilson, Wedding Crashers)...and to see the guys...I can't wait until next episode when they start hanging out at the pool....

Going to have fun tomorrow, I'm going to court to take some more papers....

Trading Day

Hello...
I  just found out that the world was going to end today...I wonder who came up w such crap and if people believed it...Sheesh...I guess I'm still here...I remember talking about the basement water a few days ago...Any resemblance to reality is a mere coincidence...
To more interesting topics, I sold a bike trailer and bought a crib\toddler bed today...and I put it together by myself...I'm just that awesome...I have skills I don't even know about...I did the whole mind over matter and "you're less than me" to the bed...and it totally worked...I did stare at the pieces and screws for the first full five minutes before realizing what to do...and it was all downhill from there...If I hear a big boom and a loud cry tonight I'll let you know...but I think I did a good job!
It's wonderful to put things together when you have children...They wanted to grab the screws (which would have meant "bye bye screws"), help w the screw driver [I let them screw the already screwed screws (say it out loud...it's tricky but it makes sense)], get in an out of the piece of furniture while I'm trying to hold it together by my knees (don't picture it, it wasn't fun), and then ask me to "look" from the other room ("I'm kindda busy")...
To make sure Olivia wouldn't get out of bed the first moment I put her in, we all ate dinner together, showered together, lotion and jammies and I let them know we were going to bed together after the movie was over (Olivia usually goes first). We brushed our teeth, each of them picked a book, I tucked them in, we prayed, we sang and nite nite....so far, so good...
Kyrsten is quite happy with her new bed (she said "Thank you" a million times)...and Olivia is in Kyrsten's bed now....my 2 babies in beds...no more cribs in the house...(tear)...It's nice to see how independent and adult like they are becoming. It makes things easier too. I just can't believe it sometimes...They'll always be my babies but growing at a speedy pace...
I also had a crazy cleaning day today. The girls spent the night at Michael's, who didn't even know what day it was (literally) when I picked up the girls...God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference...
Back to my cleaning day...I made a list (I love lists)...and broke down the chores...if there was a big chore I broke it down in 2 (instead of "doing laundry", "folding laundry" and "putting away laundry")...Lists make you quantify what you've done and feel accomplished as you are crossing it off...It also helped me to put it in the best order to do it (yes, I organized organizing)... and the house was deep cleaned which I enjoyed for about one hour before I went to pick up the girls...But it still looks pretty good...and I think it will allow me to focus on some bigger projects this week (aka the garage)...
I hope you enjoy the non ended world tomorrow!!!

Basement Clean Up

After working until 5, eating a snack w the girls at home, going to the pool and eating dinner...I decided to clean up the basement...I had the excuse to empty it for a friend of mine who's moving to put boxes in (eventhough I doubt she will) and a yard sale on Saturday...My basement is located underneath my kitchen and it's about 40 feet by 15 feet (maybe...I could tell you better in meters)...it has a little room that's about a third of it...so I put my stuff there, reorganized it and set aside things for the sale...I also brought up the bigger girl clothes and I reorganized and boxed up (and labeled) those too...
There is not too much there...2 winter clothes boxes, 1 (learn American people) Christmas box, one little autumn decorations box, about 5 sleeping bags (for all my camping trips), a box of oil to make deep fried turkey (which was supposed to happen last thanksgiving), a big pot, a tent, haloween costumes and pumpkins for next year bought on sale and a few pieces of luggage...Pretty good, huh??? I plan to keep it that way...but ask me in 10 years....I think I should go through this stuff once a year at least to make sure I get rid of things as I acquire them.
There's quite a bit of if-the-world-ends water bottles...I did keep most of them in case I have water problems...But if the world is going to end...I'd rather go first and not suffer...water will prolong the agony. Plus, I'm so stubborn that, if I want to survive, I will...just because I'm stubborn...
OK people I guess it's time for bed...I'm exhausted...

Internet Addiction

I just spent the last 15 minutes trying to make abc play a show...It's not working....So I thought I'd blog instead...
There's supposed to be a program with which you can tell who's been in your facebook and how long do you spend in facebook...Honestly, I don't want to know either...
I'm sure the time I spend on Facebook is ridiculously high and embarrasing, and it's been more than once that I have clicked on a friend' friend facebook and just snoop around, because I have nothing better to do...As I am sure, tons of my brother's (girl) friends have clicked on mine just to see who the heck he's telling "I love you" so much (yes, I'm bragging about my 16 year old brother)...
Specially, I honestly don't want to know how long I spend on facebook...It's an addiction...I've never spent so much time in the internet until now...I don't really enjoy chatting so all the programs my friends were into, I wasn't...Until now...I guess what I enjoy the most is making snappy comments and facebook allows a lot of that...
I really need to cut down my computer hours...It's not good for my eyes or for me...There's so many more productive things I could be doing...I think that when I'm in school next semester, that will help too...between working full time, the girls and school...I won't have as much time I suspect...
I like reading so much, so I really ought to replace some of my computer time w more reading...
OK, that's my blahbling blog of the day...
Sleep Tight!

Mary Poppins to the rescue

While my friends went on their anniversary date...I played Mary Poppins with their 3 lovely girls...I brought DiGiorno pizza and breadsticks and Magnum (better-than-sex) Double Caramel Ice Cream...
My friend is a germophobe and I'm the complete opposite so it was very fun to think about..."What would she think if she saw us sharing (and double dipping) the marinara sauce??? Or that the four of us had our feet in the tub????"...It's all about the simple pleasures in life...We danced like crazy (or at least I did while they watched...telling themselves never to do that)...we ate and talked and read some books, painted on my legs w washable marker (that turned out not to be so washable)...and, as fast as it sounds...they were back!!! Easiest babysitting I've ever done...
After they got back we came to my house to look at the garage, project they are planning on helping me with...And I showed around what changes I had made since I moved in...It makes me so proud. Plus, nothing gets me as excited as home projects ("Hi, I'm Cata. I'm a houseprojectholic)...So...I foresee some remodeling in the soon future (and an excuse to throw away stuff and organize:) )
Yesterday, I went to my Argentinian friend Maria's house and it made me start thinking of how much I hate dating...With friends, you are guaranteed to have a good time no matter where or when or how. A date, not so much...What are the chances of it??? I know you have to take chances or you'll never actually meet people you actually have fun with (blah, blah, blah), but... I only get a few days off a week, and I rather get together w friends than staring at someone I don't know and being pressured into talking about anything...Plus, I like to say what I think at the moment I think it (big problem) and with dates you can't do that...with friends you can... There's always rejection in dating too...and I wouldn't be so worried if a guy rejected me...It's the rejecting them that worries me...I would hate not being honest, but I really don't like crushing someones expectations after they had fun...But I won't force it or keep wasting time if I already know I'm not interested...I'm way more practical and caring than that... SO...from now on I'll be set up...If you think about it, your chances of "matching" personalities and have more fun increase if the people setting you up know you and the person they are setting you up with...Thus, I might not be going out much in the future...
OK blog friends...those are my final thoughts of the day...

Creating lasting memories for my choiceless children

Potty training update: this morning first thing...POOP IN THE POTTY. While I was taking the trash...We had ice cream to celebrate...This evening poop in the potty again...this time Olivia was needing assistance so I read a book to her while she did it !!! One pee too...but still lots of puddles...I'm wondering if it s more expensive to buy diapers or the cleaning products while potty training...I know it's better to get rid of diapers in the long run but it's a pain to be cleaning up so much (specially as much as I like cleaning).
Today I gathered most of the stuff I need for my sworn financial statement, which is the last divorce paper I need to submit....what a pain!!! Here (wining) is what I don't find fair...just because I have all kinds of insurances for all kinds of situations because I like to be ready, I need to present copies of everything...Michael, at 37, has nothing, so, lucky him he only has a few papers to present (he probably won't even find those anyways)...I just think it is pretty dumb that we still have to do it if we've agreed on everything ourselves...I'm confident I will be taking that in the next few days...
I spent a lot of the day today dancing and singing like crazy (only twice did my dtrs ask me to stop singing...maybe  was getting too crazy)...HOW FUN!!! I encourage everybody to do so...I live in a corner w big windows so a few people mght have seen me...to be honest, I wasn't paying attention...but there's a few houses on the market in the neighborhood, I might be attracting buyers...I'm just that amazing...
It is 8 pm and both my kids are sleeping by their own free will. I guess I will sort out papers to see what I can file in my file cabinet and throw away...Maybe I will do so while watching Weddind Crashers...I haven't watched it in forever...my script memory is failing...

Rainy Saturday Calmness

Tonight I made a trully apalling dinner. I believe my children should eat what someone made them without saying anything just out of respect for whom made the meal...but I couldn't make them, I threw it all away after a few bites...I made whole wheat rice and pour a can of (healthy harvest) mexican style soup...It was so salty I was feeling the water retention happening in my body...gross...I think that, aside from how long it could take to cook a good meal, what I hate about cooking is nights like this when I fail...I'm so conceited...I'm supposed to be good at everything, right? So, the more I have meals like the one tonight the more I hate cooking...
Going to a different subject, I have another strategy for peaceful time "away" from the kids...Today, there were too many messes happening...so I reached my boiling point and said "we are taking a bath...The girls were super excited and I got to clean up the kitchen and even do some laundry at the kitchen table while listening to the girls in the tub in the attached bathroom.
We dance a lot here all the time (at least once a day, with or without children, I must admit)..Today I put a mix of Sugarland from youtube and dance like crazy w them...Awesome...
We also made (burnt) chocolate chip pancakes (they were still good), baked cupcakes. I didn't have the paper thingys so they didn't come out in one piece but we still frosted them and put sparkles on them.
I realized today, after more than a year of having my new oven that when it's baking it's not hot on the outside...What a mind-blowing fact...generations and generations of "don't come close to the oven; it's hot"...now kids can put their hands on the glass and look at the goodies baking (sort of toy-store image)...Genious...And it took me 1 year...I probably have used that oven 15 times in the last year in my defense...if that's even a worthy defense.
I feel like a pretty good mom today...like I'm better, that's what I feel. I feel like I enjoyed the time w them even more, less tv involved, lots of reading books, baking (that's what good stereotypical American moms do), went to the park, taught them to clean their own messes...I was not perfect and they did drive me crazy more than once...but I feel like a better mom today.
Today, Potty Training Boot Camp started for Olivia. She will be 2 years old :'( in 2 and a half months...It's time...This is  when Kyrsten started...and not to compare but...Kyrsten got the idea from a friend she saw and she pretty much potty trained herself in a few months, no rewards involved...Olivia has her sister to show her...and now candy is involved (food is the way to her heart and reason anyways)...Kyrsten doesn't understand she will not get a candy everytime she goes potty...Any suggestions of how to explain her??? (I've tried) I got rid of a dog for going in the carpet and just when I thought I could walk barefoot in my carpet....NOOOO...4 puddles, one poop and 2 potty instances today...
We'll be butt naked all day tomorrow as well (not me, just Olivia...Kyrsten will get a choice...but not to church)...
OK, I've been pretty lenghty lately...I'm glad to be helping people fall asleep...
Buenas Noches!!!

Today I felt like Martha Stewart

Today I felt like Martha Stewart...cooking up a storm and a prisioner in my own home...
I picked up the girls and took them to the park. I saw someone from the Boys and Girls club, but they didn't recognize me. People that know me without children don't recognize me when I have them and people that know me with children can't recognize me without them.
I met a mommy w her 3 children, her husband is a pastor and just moved her from an 85,000 people city (I didn't metioned I moved from a 13,000,000 people one)...all I could blurt when she told me which church he was preaching at was "I went to a funeral there, it's a gorgeous building"...Good Job Me!!!
We came home and I made the slim version of strawberry shortcake: spongy store bought thing remember I'm foreign), sliced strawberries (not simmered in sugar), and (key thing) instead of whipped cream, sour cream mixed w sugar (It's supposed to be sweetener but I don't want to cut too many calories).
We also  had the yummy leftovers of the food I made last night: hamburger meat, onion, shredded fiesta blend cheese, eggs and mixed veggies...It didn't look good but it was delicious. Kyrsten and Olivia agreed. I've come  to terms w the fact that eventhough every now and then I can make things that taste good....my food doesn't look good...But I can live with that.
At a point today I was so "done" with my children (aka 0% patience left), that I told them "Mommy is going to take a shower by herself, do not open the door, mommy will be out". And I took a 15 min shower. Not very safe, but a lot safer than Mommy staying in the living room...
Olivia fell asleep pretty early so I assume she'll be up early tomorrow too...yey!!!!
I'm excited for the weekend, maybe I can go to te river w the girls, to the sand bank...
Michael said he'd come tomorrow finish some projects...Let's hope he does...I've been working on cleaning up the garage and I really want him to throw away as much as possible.
Another thing...My lunch workouts are going pretty well, today I sped in the ellyptical for 10 minutes...Felt good...I din't know if my body is any less flabby but psychologically I feel better..plus, if I can manage to get tan I will look slimmer and toner and not need to excercise or lose weight (good strategy, huh?)...
Ok, enough blabbling.
Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Music and life update

There's nothing better to take away my sexual frustration (other than sex, but I haven't tried that one) that singing... I just spent the last 3 hours singing at the top of my lungs and listening to music (mostly Shakira and country music)...I just really like singing...and I think I'm a good singer, not sign a recording CD amazing but pretty good...I was in a band at some point too, a rock band :)...I enjoy myself, and so I have been for the last 3 hours. Lucky me.
I'm doing great, in case you're wondering: I'm rocking my job already and it looks like they'll give me a few courses, which makes me happy. I'm changing the world, just but telling a group of girls I believe in their amazing selves. I am going to church pretty often, which gives me lot of peace. I am going out w friends and having fun and having a great time w my girlies when they're home. I'm keeping my house pretty clean and picked up most of the time, making my bills on time...Yep, just like it sounds, this control freak is controlling how things are going :)
OK, I'm still listening to music and I can't write and sign at the same time so I will go back to singing. Appreciate the effort I made to write this...
Don't worry, Be Happy. Everthing works itself out :D

Dessert included (I wish)

Today I got kindda set up by a friend to have dinner at her house w a (male) friend...I had a birthday party before then, and I didnt have much time to get ready...but I tried my casual effortless gorgeous look...
I had never had a "double date" type thingy...but it was great, no preassure, jokes, good food, friends lots of fun...If anything you just spent the evening w friends...
So, after a TV show, I got up to leave...by myself...This was after he showed his abs and his tan...Thank you...oh well...I guess maybe he just wasnt interested...He probably most definitely got blind sided "hey, there's somebody coming over for dinner...aside from you...deal w it"
I guess it was the first time after a "date" (sort of) that I was ready to say "Hey, do you want to come to my house???" and that feels good...Specially after my boring dating experiences...
It's all a learning experience... (That's what my positive self should say right???)
OK, time for bed...maybe I'll spoon w my pillow :D
Good Night
Sleep Tight

Being a mom

Mother's day was awesome in its simple way:
Olivia woke up at 6.30 so I put her in bed w me and we slept until 9, when Kyrsten woke us up (I think she was missing her "Nikky"). I cleaned a bit, went to church w Kyrsten, we had a picnic (Michael invited too) in our yard, took a long nap, washed the car for the first time :) (I'm no Paris Hylton but maybe Olivia w her curves will be), we played w water, organized the garage a bit :) (I have my things, I'm sure you have issues too), spent time w my friend Maria, danced, ate dinner, shower (lot of kisses between my girlies), massages and nite nite time...Perfect, right???

I was talking to Maria today about how different the girls are...Olivia is more of a challenge for me, because of our different personalities and her ways of pushing the limits...But there's so much I learn from that little girl, and she has soooo much sweetness in her. They both do...I'm such a kissy person and I'm glad (most of the times) the don't push me away (yet)...

Children make us parents...I guess anyone can be a mother, but you choose to become a mom, and you work hard on becoming a parent...It takes a lifetime, and I've only just started. I really think that I need to work extra hard on staying in tune w my daughters' needs...Easier said than done...I just hope I can. If I could ask for anything I would ask for them to always trust me and come to me. I have to build on that.

What a blessing to be a parent...
[Terrible secret] There's a lot of time when I think my life would be easier without my kids but it wouldn't be. Kyrsten and Olivia have given me so much certainty and drive. Buying a home, going to therapy, asking for what I deserved, leaving Michael, wanting to better myself (faster), these are all things my daughters have either made happen or intensify...THEY ARE THE CENTER OF MY WORLD IN SO MANY WAYS THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW...
The show me about the world w brand new eyes (ants, birds, and new "whys" I never thought about). What a gift they are, my gifts. They weren't planned but they have always and will always be loved by both me and dad...I really hope they never doubt that..
I worry sometimes, when the questions will come about Michael and I getting divorced...I know sometimes kids think things are their fault and that they'd want their parents together...I hope they never do and I hope God grants me the wisdom when answering all the questions.
Being a mom gave new purpose to my life that I never thought I'd have. It gave me a new role in my "changing the world" type life...It didn't stop me, it propelled it...
I better not screw this up!!!

Family Night!!!

Yeah!!! We made it through another family night!!! Coldly analizying, my house is a mess, there were a few irritating moments (like when my mother in law asked me for a diaper for my in-potty-training dtr to be picked up to which I responded "She doesn't need to be picked up if it bothers someone"), but I loved it overall. We played 3 board games (aggravation, aples to apples, another one I dont remember the name), caught up w life, eventhough we don't have so much in common, and just spent time w each other...Sadwiches means a lot of crap around but really easy to "make", plus Cathy (mom-in-love, that's what my foreign mom calls it) brought chips and fruits which was a good balance my girls loved (hopefully no throwing up tonight). The highlight of the evening was when my  year old niece saw my newly renovated 3x9 porche and she said it would be nice to drink tea and talk about our dreams, so I'm planning on doing that on Monday for a bit.
We are planning on doing Family night every other Saturday.
We had our 5 year old neighbor's birthday party at the park today and my girls loved hitting the pinata. Organic candy, not my thing though...They had the pinata stuffed w stickers, hairbands, and...BANDAIDS...genius...it was Kyrsten's favorite thing...after that she was literarily ready to go home...
Wonderful weather, very exciting!!!
Happy Mother's day to all those who have that blessing and honor (and challenge) of being mothers!!!

Needing Mental Health for my Meltdowns

Last week was hard for me. I haven't been to the therapist for 2 and a half months (I totally spaced my last two appointments which is very unlike me), so when we talked on the phone today and she thought I wasn't coming anymore I just about freak out a bit...She asked me how I was or why did I think I had to come....I'm not sleeping well, I'm gaining weight like crazy, I can't be by myself (I'll constantly go to people's houses just not to be alone), I just filed for official divorce yesterday, which will mean coparenting (aka making decisions about my children w an irrational man) for the next 16 years, I have a new job I am adapting my expectations to...."So, it sounds like maybe you should come" (Do you think???)...Just because I keep going and I am (very) functional, doesn't mean it doesn't help to have some "help"...I am a firm believer in therapy, I think it's good for everybody...My coworkers and friends will tell you I recommend it to anybody...I just really think it works. Period.
I had Mate (Argentinian tea-like beverage) and dinner w my 2 Argentinian friends (Maria and Angels)...I feel very unpressured while I'm with them...There's so many things they understand that no one does, there's things (about "America") that we don't understand and we figure out together (or try)...It's just so easy to be around people that just want to be around you because you represent their culture...not much pressure there.
Truth is, I don't know if we would be friends if we all lived in Argentina, but it's funny where life takes you...and gives you everything you need.
I had to coach (without the lesson book) to my Girls on the Run...and I was petrified but didn't let the girls know it...and I'm a total pushover, but I didn't let them because I was the only adult and I just really wanted to return them safely home...So, pretty good job.
Kyrsten made me a plant (she's that Godlike) for mother's day, they put a plant on a milk carton after pasting little piece of different fabrics on it...It's the most beautiful thing someone has given me, Olivia gave me a beautiful butterfly too...They made me super emotional...
Summer better be coming to stay!!!
Have great days tomorrow!!!

How much more can I drag the divorce before you stop reading???

Michael and I have finally agreed on the terms for our divorce so we have filed today together...We still need to fill out a sworn financial statement, which sucks because he has nothing to write on it and I need to be finding out, how much my life and retirement policies are worth, bank statements, etc, etc etc...and he has nothing so he doesnt have to worry about it too much...Regardless, I'm super excited things are finally on it's way.
Today, I organized the girls' closets, I specially threw away lost sock, and old ones, reorganized drawers and put away all winter suits and dresses and hang the summer ones (which had been patiently waiting for a few weeks on top of their dresser)...On Sunday, I moved all the furniture, put glow on it, re arrange some stuff, gave away toys and now I'm really happy with how it looks. There's nothing like giving away that makes me feel better...I think I'm the other extreme of hoarding...When thinking about an object, hoarders think "I (or someone in this planet) will need it for sth"...I think "The less the better"...
I really like big organizing projects...Upkeep is not my thing...Needless to say, cleaning day will be tomorrow.
OK, I'm tired and my battery is almost out so it's time for bed!!!
Nite nite
